CANTINA, RIBA Award Winning Design | Estudio Nomada

Cantina is the result of the union of two separate spaces in the building of Archivo de Galicia, Espana. The spaces have an unusual look for a cantina and can be considered more of a mix between a cafe and a store. The tree structure references Spanish holiday picnics and communal gatherings under trees. Using a contemporary language, Estudio Nomada created Cantina, which is sort of a rural tavern located in the newly designed Galicia City of Culture, a building by Peter Eisenman.
