Palm Leather Shopper | Studio Tjeerd Veenhoven

The Palm Leather used in this bag is an innovative material created by the Dutch designer Tjeerd Veenhoven after months of research and development. The material is made from dried areca leaves treated with a special biological solution derived from vegetable oils. The leaves become permanently soft and flexible creating a pure raw material from a waste product that can be used in a variety of products. These bags are being developed and produced in the South of India where both the leaves and skills flourish.
