Vintage Arabia Finland Kaj Franck Origami Porcelain Platter

Mint condition circa 1960 porcelain Origami tray designed by Kaj Franck and made in Finland by Arabia. A beautiful study of geometric shapes, the tray and has four divided compartments.Marked: Arabia Made in Finland 5-62 and impressed KF-2.Kaj Franck (1911-1989) made a lasting imprint with his work in glass and ceramics as the head of design for Arabia and Nuutajarvi. Franck was also a textile designer, professor and outspoken theorist on the socio-aesthetics of functional objects. His creative principle was based on a constant striving towards purity of form and uncomplicated beauty. 12"l x 10"d x 1 1/2"h.
