House in a Mountain Meadow by Gelotte Hommas Architecture

Being built into the side of a mountain, House in a Mountain Meadow posed some unique challenges to Seattle based architecture firm Gelotte Hommas; privacy and stability. Both are achieved with a concrete retaining wall running the length of the house starting in the garage. The wall breaths contemporary life and movement throughout the home as tall, open spaces and small, intimate spaces are separated flawlessly. The sense of privacy allows for openness that flows from the home interior to the outside landscape.
