Astal - table-light for small interiors
In small living spaces such as yacht interiors and cottages which are usually small, there is a need to save space by moving some objects after their use or to use multifunctional objects. Darko Nikolić came up with idea to design a table that can be pulled from ceiling and also used as a source of light. It requires central telescopic rail that could be pulled by an electric motor installed by ceiling. Motor also enables the adjustment of height of table. Minding that central telescopic rail could be barrier in communication while dinning, I gave the table pentagonal shape(larger table have heptagonal shape). Table surface is made of two tables of transparent polycarbonate that enables you to put whatever kind of inspiration or decoration in between. Because there's no table legs it's much easier to feel comfortable while dining and after that there are no obstacles for vacuum cleaner. In the center of the table under the telescopic rail there is detachable bowl which could be used for ice, bowl for spices, fruits or flowers. After meal you can turn your table into the lamp. Motor will stretch the telescopic rail and close it, making table surface free from dust and insects and always ready for next meal.
