American artist Donald Judd was one of the first minimalistic artists. Started as a painter he then began to add 3d objects into his paintings. After that period he began to work on "specific objects" only. He designed clear particular objects, that could build the same specific space around them. Donald Judd manifesto was "simple expression of complex thought".
