House k by Studio 2a

This private residence for a family of three in Kanagawa, Japan is the work of Japanese architecture practice Studio 2A, owned by Miya Akiko. 13 freestanding wood panels organized in a 30 degree polar coordinate system wrapped in laminated glass give the house its hexagonal form. The interior, finished entirely in light-toned wood, benefits from a sense of unity. A spiral staircase serves as the core mode of circulation throughout the house.
