Mebius by Atelier Tekuto

Located near Kamakura, Japan, the Mebius house communicates naturally with it’s environment even with all the challenges it gave when creating this abode. The jagged mountainous terrain and irregular land contested with Atelier Tekuto‘s design goal to create various rhythms and wavelengths that of the sun, human cycles, plant life and lunar cycles. Tekuto wanted to create a dwelling that provided an adaptable, spatial choice of space based on the seasons, time of day, particular activities or mood of its guests. A combination of the interior and exterior layers of the home and the terrain’s uneven landscape created a majestic beauty of design with its architectural rhythm and stimulating sense of sheerness.
