Massive Gasometers Transformed into Thriving Communities
A recent revitalization project led by Jean Nouvel, Coop Himmelb(l)au, Manfred Wehdorn, and Wilhelm Holzbauer transformed these four massive gasometers into spectacular and thriving communities in Vienna. These massive gasometers were built in 1896 and were Europe’s largest gas plant at one time but were decommissioned later on.
