Creative Spaces within a Loft

Serving as private sectors within this loft in Bushwick, Brooklyn, this tree house and cabin are conceived as mini houses within a house. These cabins are located in a former textile factory. The industrial windows and exposed brick add texture to these modern simplistic cabins, and the addition of the semi-private indoor garden gives the space an organic feel. Instead of constructing a wall to separate the space into two bedrooms, these cabins were created to form mini private spaces for each roommate. The tree house is lofted above the ground and houses a study and storage space below. Where as the cabin has a storage space built into the raised floor. The creation of the cabin and tree house allowed for the space to still be open and lit by natural light. The shared open space of the loft consist of living room space, a kitchen and dinning space.
