Dakota Table by Fine Line Creations

This piece was inspired by the exposed beam work in the interiors of Japanese tea houses. The overlapping base and underside of the top is a representation of the solid timber framed construction in the interior anatomy of these tea houses. The top was designed with intent on using a new material called Dakota burl, which is a sheet good material that is made up of compressed sunflower seeds to give the appearance of a natural burl. The material used for the base is American black walnut.
