Area's Photovoltaic Roof Tiles

Using photovoltaic cell technology combined with traditional clay tiles Area has developed Tegolasolare, a roofing system that incorporates a solar power system for the roof of a building. The system is made up of 1′ 6″ square roof tiles made from a spray-dried ceramic mix that incorporates a four-cell PV panel. Approximately 400 square feet of roof surface is needed to generate 3 kw of electricity which transforms the roof into a source of clean energy without any added structures.
