It may just be the personal nostalgia of San Diego talking, but potentially and more likely the use of concrete, marble, wood, and water, by which the fantastic Villa Kiani by Makan Rahmanian and Kamran Heirati is somewhat reminiscent of Louis Kahn’s Salk Institute – and not in the copy cat version sort of way, but more of the they could be close but distant cousins kind of scenario.
