This is a close up of Galatea showing torch cut steel plate. This figure was done freehand,that is to say I did not utilize body molds as a guide (as in previous works),but relied on visceral memory to accomplish the form... This particular work is an ode to 7 years of near total bliss living with a petite Goddess of Japanese descent. I knew her body as well as my own and with eyes closed sculpted with my hands countless times, every salient feature of the topology of her form. All that visceral learning came back to me with crystalline clarity when I began this piece even though it was some 15 years later...
