The Concordance Workstation

The Concordance Workstation

If you walked into a large office today, you would most likely see several small desks with surrounding walls, removing them from any office action and eliminating any chance of collaborative work. In other words, people are forced to work in isolation.

Tork Design, a furniture fabricator and manufacturer, has creatively thought of a way to bring people together, improving collaboration, communication, and production of work. The Concordance is one of Tork Designs newest answer to the cubicle. By intensifying cohesiveness and interaction, more is accomplished throughout the day. Working publically and closely with other people forces you to focus on your tasks and get results because you are no longer able to hide yourself and wander from your work.

The Concordance comfortably fits four computers on a single surface. Within the surface are five grommets and a hidden central cavity that allow for power access to all areas of the desk. All power and internet is condensed and fed through one leg. Below the surface are eight storage shelves, providing plenty of space for each person to keep their belongings organized. Whether this piece is used as a conference table or a work station table, its large surface and collaborative abilities brings people together which ultimately makes for a productive work place.
