The HB690 from Halliday+Baillie of New Zealand is about as simply stated and ruggedly built a solution as you will find for a modern pocket door lock.
This one is 7-1/2" high, though there's a taller version as well as models with keyed entry.
And it comes with a small but sturdy recessed edge pull.
Finishes are highest quality: Marine grade 4 Satin Chrome, Polished Nickel and Satin Nickel as well as an Oil Rubbed Bronze model.
Doors need to be 1-1/2" thick or more.
