Chilewich Spring / Summer 2010 Introductions
Design is practical beauty, as Sandy Chilewich demonstrates season after season. The founder and creative director of Chilewich l Sultan LLC, the innovative New York-based textile specialist, Sandy Chilewich excels at transforming industrial materials into stylish, affordable, hardworking textiles for tabletops and floors, each with a distinctive twist of pattern or a daring dash of color, and more than a touch of texture.
Says Chilewich: "Everything for me always starts with the manufacturing technique, and that mysterious thing that happens when you set about trying to find out how to achieve a particular effect, such as a design where the yarn seems to be peeking through." That's certainly true of Spring/Summer 2010, which introduces fascinating and fashionable variations that complement the core of the existing collection. For the seasons, additions for the table include two wovens, a print, a pressed, two shades of red, two grass- and sea-inspired colorways, as well as two neutrals for the napkins. For the floor, designs include a spirited stripe and citrus colors. Chilewich also introduces a Pet Mat to the overall family of Chilewich products.
