Reclaimed American Chestnut Floor from Mountain Lumber Co
The Mountain Lumber Company's specialty is reclaimed and FSC newly-sawn flooring. They travel the world to collect their antique wood from abandoned factories, mills, barns and even breweries then turn it into beautiful reclaimed flooring. The pictured wood floor is an Antique American Chestnut, a light and warm-toned rare wood that was almost wiped out due to a blight in 1905. They continue to find these rare planks as a number of builders used the wood for barns and houses throughout the Appalachian mountain chain. Antique American Chestnut can sometimes include occasional knots, nail holes and worm holes, but that all adds to the beauty and fascinating character of the wood.
