Veronica Arcos Designs Casadetodos Home in Chile
Casadetodos, a single family unit in the El Arrayán area of Santiago, Chile, was recently completed by Chile-based architect Veronica Arcos. The aim was to explore the possibilities of an irregularly shaped home that served to best capture the surrounding views of the mountains while maintaining a level of privacy. The home is structured from metallic frames and dark wood, and is comprised of many odd angles that give the home its unusual shape. On one side, a patio is sheltered by three cantilevered volumes and a terrace is formed between the folds of the angular roof. To achieve privacy, there are no windows on the façade that faces the street, and instead, an internal courtyard and skylight permit light on that side of the residence.
